Holy Name Hospital

The MS Center at Holy Name Hospital would like to extend a tremendous thank you to 14 year old Sam Hertz, son of Sharyn & David Hertz of Upper Saddle River, NJ. For the second year in a row, Sam has put together a Bowl-a-thon to support the MS Center! Initially Sam decided he wanted to do something nice for his coach, who is a patient of the Center. Sam and 10 friends bowled one night in 2004 at Montvale Lanes in Montvale, NJ and raised well over $5,000! To continue his mission, Sam had a 2nd Annual Bowl-a-thon in December 2005 and raised $10,000!!! In each instance each child was “sponsored” by friends and family from 10 cents-$1.00 per pin knocked down! Now that’s a bowl-a-thon! Way to go Sam!

Last week Sam and his lovely mother Sharyn came to visit the Center so he could see first hand the wonderful work that the Center does and was able to fully grasp the depth of his donations. He truly understood that his generosity went to help the patients at the Center and was thrilled to understand that he helped patients get treatment as the MS Center at Holy Name Hospital is the only non-profit state licensed facility that treats all patients regardless of their ability to pay. The MS Center is proud to have the Hertz family join in our fight against MS.
