Stephen S. Kamin, MD, Associate Medical Director

Dr. Kamin studied as an undergraduate and in medical school at Harvard University.  He trained at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center and is board certified in neurology.  He is a clinical associate professor in neuroscience at umdnj-nj medical school and attending physician at the University Hospital in Newark.

 

Diego Cadavid, MD

Dr. Cadavid is a board certified neurologist.  He is a clinician and researcher in multiple sclerosis.  His work involves both basic science, clinical trials, and  immunology of multiple sclerosis.

 

M Said Shanawani, MD

Dr. Shanawani received his medical degree at the Damascus University Medical School.  He has had extensive experience in neurology in centers in New York and New Jersey.  He is a clinical associate professor of neuroscience at umdnj MedicalSschool, attending physician at University Hospital in Newark, and the dva in Lyons, New Jersey.

Neuropsychologist

 

Frederick Foley, PhD

Fred Foley, PhD is the director of psychological services. He supervises interns in psychology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Foley is considered a world leader in managing cognitive changes due to multiple sclerosis. He is also well known for his research in sexual dysfunction and depression in multiple sclerosis.

 
Nursing Director


Cindy Ougheltree, RN

Cindy Ougheltree RN, MSCN, has been at the MS Center since 1998. She has recently been named Director of nursing for the MS Center. She has an expertise in the field of home care and performance improvement. Cindy has an AD in Nursing from Lasell College.

 

 
Nurse Practitioners


June Halper, MSN, ANP, FAAN
June Halper is a certified adult nurse practitioner who has specialized in multiple sclerosis since 1978. She was a founder of the Gimbel MS Center in Teaneck, NJ and has been the Executive Director since 1989.


Diane Andresen, MSN, RN, APN-C
Diane Andresen received a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1990.  As a registered nurse, Diane has practiced in hospitals and in outpatient facilities.  In 2005, Diane grauduated with honors from William Paterson University where she obtained a Master of Science in nursing degree.  Diane is a certified adult nurse practitioner and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

 

Nurses


Kathleen Vanderhoof, RN

Kaye Vanderhoof received her RN from Bergen Community College in 1976. She has had extensive experience in women’s healthcare and inpatient and family education. Her clinical activities at the Gimbel MS Center include management of elimination dysfunction, counseling, case management, and outreach.

Stacy Melvin, RN, BSN

Ms. Melvin has worked with the center since it opened in 1985 in one capacity or another. Currently, she sees patients clinically and assists with a number of clinical trials. She has a variety of home care activities with a special expertise in the baclofen pump and infusion therapy.

 

Kimberly Tolotti, RN

Ms. Tolotti transitioned from home care where she managed a spasticity program with Baclofen pumps for MS patients.  She has worked closely with the center for many years.  Currently, she is assisting with several clinical trials and sees patients clinically.

Francine Armentano, RN, BSN

Francine Armentano received her BSN from Lehman College in 1982.  Her clinical experience includes working in the ER, medical/surgical, psych, multiple sclerosis and outpatient.
